DYNAMIC TRACKED STI

We are currently working on a real-time 'dynamic tracked STI' method an example of which can be seen in the video below. This example shows the dynamic speech transmission index exerted by a moving talker within a lecture space. The cone shape represents head movement and orientation of the talker and the changing graphic represents the real-time STI across the room. The visualisation shown in the video is not a simulation, but is in fact real-tracked data for a university lecturer whilst delivering a one hour session to students. Data capture was implemented using a number of highly integrated systems including an ultra-wide-band beacon based movement and position tracker, a head tracking system, a large scale high density microphone grid array and various real-time apps running in the background on a local server and on an iPhone worn by the talker. All systems and methods are bespoke designs for this project and are used as a proof of concept for various complex acoustic monitoring and tracking methods.

This work is due to be published shortly and more details will follow on this site. Please wait a moment for the video demonstration below to load ...
